BUTTREY Ratings

Bradley-Terry Unified Tournament and Television Rating for Evaluating PlalYers

These ratings measure each player's raw ability — stripping away wagering strategy to focus on who actually knows the most and buzzes the fastest. Think of it as a batting average for Jeopardy: 0.00 = average player, and the higher the number, the more dominant. Only players with 4+ games are rated. How are these calculated?

Named after Sam Buttrey — statistics professor and Jeopardy champion. Uses a Bradley-Terry model trained across all game types.
